Service Description

(You should have basic familiarity with a sewing machine through our Sewing Machine 101 class or previous experience.) Join us for a tote bag sewing class and learn the basics while creating a practical bag you’ll be proud to carry! In this hands-on class, you’ll learn how to cut and sew your fabric, create sturdy straps, and assemble your very own reusable tote bag. No advanced sewing experience is needed—this class is designed for beginners with basic sewing machine knowledge and those looking to build their confidence with a sewing machine. Bring your own sewing machine if you have one, or let us know in advance if you need to borrow a studio machine. Supplies to Bring: -Your sewing machine, if you have one. If you need to borrow a studio machine, please let us know in advance. -2 yards of non-stretch fabric for the outside of your bag. Recommended fabrics include heavy linen, denim, cotton duck, cotton canvas, or cotton/linen blends. -2 yards of non-stretch fabric for the lining. Lightweight cotton is a good choice. -Thread in the color of your choice. Come ready to learn, sew, and leave with a handmade tote bag you can use every day!
